My husband picked up a box of 4x4 ceramic tiles (unsealed, rustic looking kind) at Home Depot for about $9. I think there are 9 tiles in the box. <BR/><BR/>To seal,I bought a spray can of Clear Acrylic Gloss Coating from Hobby Lobby. The brand is Tree House Studio and it says it creates a permanent, water-resistant finish.
