Pouty Petals

I discovered an online store called ABC Toys and Crafts and they carry the best stuff and at a discount!  When I saw the DT call....well, I thought I'd knock the dust off my mojo and give it a shot. ABC carries several awesome stamp lines and one of those lines is My Cute Stamps.  I snagged one of the newest releases, Pouty Petals, and it is so cute!  I saw it during the CHA peeks and knew I had to have it ASAP.

I colored the flower with copics and cut some grass with my Cricut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll check out the ABC Toys and Crafts store and see what I'm talking about.  Discounted products, free US shipping on clear stamps--WOW!

Supplies not mentioned:  Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Old Olive cardstock (SU), White cardstock (SU), American Crafts pattern paper in How's it going?--used front and back, Circle Nestabilities, corner chomper corner rounder.

Papertrey Inspired

I have a small budget for purchasing crafty things and sometimes have to get creative to achieve a look I desire. I created a number collage in PSE and printed it out on  pattern paper to get a look similar to this paper.   I used the Another Year stamp set from Practicing Creativity and it's a great set to use with some big numbers and at $13 it's a great deal.  I have a Cricut, so I can't justify purchasing the PTI number dies.  I cut these big numbers with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and the size was set at 2-3/4".
This delicous, colorful pattern paper is from the Sweet Summertime pack from Echo Park and I snagged it yesterday at Hobby Lobby for a mere $6 (I used a 40% off coupon)!  This paper pack was not in the aisle with the other paper packs like Basic Gray, etc. it was hanging with the scrapbook paper kits.  This is an aisle I rarely go down and really lucked out yesterday.

My daughter is going to a sleepover birthday party tonight and I made this card for the birthday girl.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Vinyl label

I recently cut vinyl with my Cricut for the first time and I'm eager to cut more!  I made some labels for my canisters using a shape from Label Frames 2 and chose a clean font from the font table in SCAL.  My canister is large so I made my label approximately 3.5 x 4.5.  It was so easy!  The only hard part for me was where to put the label and getting it straight.

I had a hard time getting the proper angle when taking my pictures, so my cansiter looks top heavy...it's not in person.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Flashback Friday 8.0 - First 3D project

Anyone who is a regular reader of my blog knows I love 3D projects.  I made the leap to creating my own 3D templates when I got tired of waiting around for someone else to come up with patterns I wanted and it's a hobby I've enjoyed for over a year now.  So when I saw the Flashback Friday 8.0 challenge was your first 3D project, I knew I had to play along.

I'm not sure of the date I made this project, because I never posted it to my SCS gallery but know I made it before the first 3D project I ever posted.  So it has to be from January 2008 or sometime in 2007.  It's a white file folder that was turned into an organizer.  I remember seeing the idea on Splitcoast and just had to make one.  The picture quality is terrible!

I encourage you to dig around and find the first 3D project you ever made and play along !

Have a great day!

PTI anniversary challenge 2

Nothing like a PTI prize to get me motivated to make something.  I chose Maile's tag and enlarged it to be the main focus of this 4x4 card.  I paper pieced and colored the windmill thingys (what are those called?) and put the paper pieced section for the smaller windmill (pinwheel??) thing on the top and the big one on the bottom to hide the black part.  Does that make sense at all? LOL  I added some twine and it's done.
I actually had some additional ideas for this graphic but I have to do the dishes before they evolve and I have to kill what crawls out of the sink.

See you tomorrow!

My favorite Papertrey project

It's anniversary time over at Papertrey Ink and Nichole has challenged us to pick our favorite Papertrey project from the last year and post it  for a chance to win a ginormous prize pack.

I chose this card from my many PTI projects from the last year because the design is everything I love in a card... lots of white with splashes of color and a clean design.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

More Digi layouts

I am having so much fun working on digi scrapbook pages.  They are so quick!  The first 2 pages are quick pages I got from The Shabby Shoppe.  The first one I bought and the second one was a freebie—can’t beat free!Lizzie first day of school 2009 copy elizabeth and brooklynn at the fair 2010 copy

This simple Halloween layout uses some Echo Park digi paper I got from Jessica Sprague during one of her $1 Wednesday sales. I got a whole “pack” of Echo Park Halloween paper for a buck and I also got some decorative elements to go with it—I don’t know how to use them yet. LOL Guess what else she sells? Cosmo Cricket digi paper.  I snagged some of that too for $1.Halloween 2010 copy

I am going to work on some nice word art for titles because I would like to dress the simple pages up a bit. Digi scrapping is probably going to be like my paper scrapping…start out very simple and then evolve into simple yet stylish.

I actually did stamp something yesterday, colored it and it’s sitting on the table staring at me, so I may have something stamp related to show soon. Coloring is so much easier--not that I’m really any better, the surgery didn’t cure my impatience—since my carpal tunnel surgery. The surgery site is still tender if there’s pressure on it, but otherwise, I’m in good shape!

Thanks for stopping by!
