Happy Saturday! Today is the offical Digiments July release. Check out the Digiments blog to see the new releases and the cool stuff the DT has made for you. You can get all 24 digiments for $10! Here's my project using one of the new releases. Secret Sisters are popular these days and Digiments has a line of sentiments for it.

Digiments release peek

Good Morning! I made a card using one of the digiments from the July release. This card is different from the cards I've been making lately. It feels very...sedate. LOL I think it's the Ocean Tides color. I used SU's Melon Mambo cardstock and ink. I also used my defective Bermuda Bay ink and if you notice it matches Ocean Tides really well.

Digiments Peek

I got to work with an awesome Digiment this month and wanted to share a peek of the upcoming release with you. This is a card I made using one of the new releases. Isn't that sentiment so true? The only way to have a friend is to be one.

You are not limited to black ink on white cardstock when using Digiments. You can print these in any color you want! If you get the RGB codes from Splitcoast Stampers then you can print your digiment in any SU color you want! How cool is that?

All the new Digiments release on the 13th and Michelle has a special deal for those of you that purchase this weekend (Sat & Sun)--- all 30 digiments for $10! Yes, I said $10.

Digiments Weekly Challenge

This is the last Digiments challenge before the June release, so you have one more chance at winning it all! Michelle has a really cute digiment this week and I decided to get funky with it. Sometimes you have to do what the voices in your head tell you. They get angry when you ignore them too long.

Are you surprised it's not aqua mist, hibiscus burst and summer sunrise?? Well, it was tough but I went with a plum pudding, pure poppy and yellow.( I'm not sure about the name of the yellow because I pulled it from my old Creative Memories stash along with the pattern paper and the blue.) My blog group's most recent weekly challenge is to use purple, yellow, one neutral, a flower and one other embellishment. Well, I haven't taken on that challenge yet, but it sparked the yellow and purple aspects of this card. In person, the sun is more yellow but it looks more orange in the photo. I kept the design minimal because the colors are bright and funky and I didn't want too many things competing with each other. I'm a minimal girl anyway. I cut the giant sun with my Wishblade and if you can cut .gsd files I'll be happy to share the file with you.

Thinking of You...

Good Morning! It's time for another Digiments challenge for a chance to win the entire June release. Head over to the Digiments blog and grab this week's free sentiment. Did I mention it's FREE? This is a perfect opportunity to give them a try and if you need some help, I'm going to give you a tip or two. First let's take a look at the card I made using this week's digiment. The finished size of this card is 4.25 x 4.25, so even with the ribbon treatment sticking out it will still fit in a regular envelope. In case you are wondering, I am addicted to polka dots.
Ok, now on to the tips. When I use a digital image (sentiment or art) I open it in Photoshop Elements so I can play around with a layout, size, etc. If you don't have PSE, you can open your digiment in Microsoft Word and get the same results. What helps me in determining the size I need is to change the document size to 4.25 x 5.5 or whatever size the front of your card is going to be. Then I insert my digment (INSERT PICTURE from file) and adjust the size. Now, what I do to be able to move my digiment around on my document is to format the picture. Under the tab FORMAT, click FORMAT PICTURE. This will give you a box with tabs. Choose the tab that says LAYOUT and change the wrapping style to SQUARE and the HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT should be marked OTHER. This will allow you to move the digiment around on your document when you change the size. Maybe there is another way, but this way works for me. The beauty of digital images is that you can adjust the size to fit your project and they are inexpensive. Digiments are $1 each and you can use your digiment as many times as you want and change the size, color, etc. all you want. You can print it on pattern paper or any color cardstock.

Here's the card I made using the digiment. This was a quick card to put together and I love the raspberry fizz with the kraft cardstock. Digiments are really easy to use and are extremely affordable ($1 each!!). I can't wait to see what you can do with this week's digiment!

Digiments Weekly Challenge

Morning ladies! Today is the first in a series of weekly challenges leading up to the next Digiments release. To get entered, all you need to do is make a card using the free digiment and link it on the Digiments blog. You will then be entered to win next month's entire release! Digiments is an affordable way to add to your sentiment collection and since you can re-size a digiment to suit your project needs, the $1 price tag is even more of a bargain.

My card was based on last week's SCS sketch. I changed the shape of an element and moved it's placement a bit. I used more of that yummy October Afternoon paper and, of course, a digiment. I edged it in PTI Vintage Cream ink to soften the stark white and I'm into that now. I seem to have to put a button on my ribbon and edge everything in vintage cream these days!

You do not have to have a blog to participate in the Digiments challenge. You can upload to SCS or any other hosting site and link it that way. Can't wait to see what you make!

Altered box

Happy Friday! I have a project to show you today that uses one of the many empty Papertrey Ink boxes I have stashed in my office. I've used these boxes before to house notecards, etc. but decided I wanted to do something different on the top instead of wrapping a band of cardstock around it. (Not that there's anything wrong with that...) I made a cap for the top that slides right off when the ribbon is untied. I printed a Digiment on Vellum and overlayed it across the stamped image. I kept this box super simple and the candy hides the adhesive on the back of the label.

To make the cap, you need a piece of cardstock 5.5 x 8.25. Score the long end at 1" on both ends and score the short side at 2" and 3". Here's a quick visual on how to score. You will have to cut at the 2 and 3 score lines up to the 1" score line on the 8 1/4 length ends in order to put it together. Does that make sense? I'm no Lauren Meader *sigh* I should have made the score lines look different but I don't know how yet. I'm teaching myself how to do this stuff.

Digiments Time!

Today is the day folks! All the new Digiments are available! You're going to love working with these sentiments. You can see all the new releases on the Digiments site. Here are a few projects I have whipped up for you:

The first 2 projects are gift boxes using the Rounded Wrap Up template from PTI. It was super easy to put this box together and even simpler to decorate using a Digiment. No stamping involved! I know we all love to stamp, but sometimes it's great to put a little something simple together without dragging all our stuff out. I cut the round "flowers" with my Wishblade but they could easily be done by hand. Just draw some irregular shaped circles in different sizes, cut them out, distress them and layer!

I added a little more detail to this box and printed the Digiment a bit smaller. That's the beauty of digital sentiments, you can re-size to suit your project needs. I actually pulled out the sewing machine for this one and used a mini clothes pin for the closure instead of the usual ribbon. I'm really into mini clothes pins these days and distressing the edges of cardstock with scissors.

Last, but not least, a quick graduation card. I only need Graduation cards every now and then and don't need a stamp set devoted to the occasion. That's why I was so tickled to see some Graduation Digiments in this release. I stamped a diploma ($1 stamp) in gray ink just to add a little something extra but the sentiment is so lovely it really needs no further adorment. Hi all! Hope you're having a great day so far. I'm supposed to be at the Zoo right now on a field trip but since it's raining, the trip was cancelled. There are a group of disappointed pre-schoolers today but we've promised another trip to make it up to them. We (the parents) had the teacher break the news to them this morning while we cowardly waited in another room.

Ok, now on to the good stuff.

Happy Saturday, an announcement and a card!

Hi everyone! Hope your Saturday is going great so far. It's rainy and yucky here today but I'm happy because I have some great news. I'm tickled pink to tell you that I'm on my first Design Team! Michelle at Digiments made my day yesterday by inviting me on her team. Take a look at my sidebar and check out the talented ladies I get to work with! Digiments is a new digital sentiment stamp company and I'm excited to get started. You'll be hearing more from me about Digiments in the near future. Did I mention how excited I am???

I needed a quick birthday card for a friend of my daughter who's having a party today. I'm taking a dip into the digital stamp pool and tried out a freebie from MyGrafico (Baby Silhouette set). Sentiment is stamped from PTI's Friends 'til the End set. My daughter wrote "Got Nuts on our birthday" inside the card and made her own envelope and it actually fit! She's going to be so much better than me when it comes to crafting and I couldn't be happier!

Digiments card

Good Morning! I hope you don't get sick of this October Afternoon dsp anytime soon 'cause I love it! I will force myself to use something different on my next project though--don't want to get stuck in a rut.

This is a card I whipped up using a digital sentiment from Digiments. I really like the way this sentiment is arranged and I love that more than one font was used. The focal point of this card is the sentiment and the inside is left blank for a handwritten note.
