Bloom Friend

I'll admit I am a bit obsessed with this flower stamp

I embossed with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper.  I watercolored with distress inks--picked raspberry and spiced marmalade go together well and look like watermelon wonder to me.  The card base is Watermelon Wonder and I stamped the Brushstrokes background stamp diagonally in WW ink.

You can't see the watercolor detail well in the main photo, so here is a close up of the flower.  I went over the watercolor with a clear wink of stella pen.

Do you hear this card screaming for sequins? :)  I do!  Unfortunately, I don't have a good sequin color in my stash to use on this card so I will have to add some once my sequin order arrives.

Watercolor homework [days 3 and 4]

Actually, this homework should be for days 3 and 4 and the work I posted previously for days 3 and 4 should go in days 5 and 6.  Sigh.  I goofed, but I'm going to straighten it out.

I made this super simple thank you card for my daughter to give to a friend and used my go to layout.  I stamped the images from Fresh Cut Florals (Wplus9) in Distress Inks/markers and softened them with a small round watercolor brush and water (of course!)

Watercolor class homework days 5 and 6 and Virginia's View Challenge #3

Here's my homework for class days 3 and 4   5 and 6. Actually, this work fits days 5 and 6 and I re-did my work for days 3 and 4.  Pretty messy attempt and I totally used a butterfly painting I found on Pinterest as inspiration for this card.  Practice makes perfect and this was fun so I'll be practicing. :) **Let me add that I wanted the coloring to be a bit messy, I just wanted a more controlled mess. LOL**

I added a tiny amount of faux stitching to the sentiment panel because I thought it needed a little something added and as a bonus, I get to enter this card in the current Virginia's View Challenge: Stitching.

Watercolor for Card Makers: Days 1 and 2 homework

I am taking the delightful Watercolor for Card Makers class--it's not too late to sign up and you won't regret it!

Here's my homework for Days 1 and 2:

I had to take a pic with my iphone.  My daughter has taken off with my SD card for my camera.

I used my $5 watercolor set  to make this funky background, added some stamped images and boom, it's done.

I kept this card very simple and plan to give it to my husband for taking care of me, the kids, the dog and our house while I am recovering from an injury that has left me unable to handle all the things I normally handle.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday # 153

I love the water color look but it's so hard for me to do...I'm 100% sure I'm overthinking the process.    I gave it a go for this week's Make it Monday  to water color a background and heat emboss a sentiment.

Please forgive the less than stellar photo, my lighting is terrible this evening.

I wanted to add more detail to this card but the background turned out so pretty I didn't want to take away from it.  This is the 3rd panel I water colored...the first 2 are hideous. LOL

Thanks for dropping by my poor, neglected blog!
