Embellish Blog Hop

Welcome and thanks for joining me today along with Embellish Magazine for a blog hop filled with creativity, tips, inspiration, and prizes!

Don't forget to leave comments on every blog. Embellish is offering four prizes for 10 lucky winners. The winners will be randomly selected from each of the blog hop participant blogs. A comment left on each of the blog hop participant's web site will give you an entry to win one of the prizes, which include Lawn Fawn stamps, May Arts twine, Subscription to Embellish Magazine, and A New Design crinkly stained ribbon.

The focus of the premiere issue of Embellish is to use twine along with kraft, turquoise, brown and red. I love to use twine and at one point had a hard time making a card without it. I decided to go a little rustic with my card and stitched up a little cardstock quilt.  I also had to work a mini clothes pin in there somehow so I used it to hold the sentiment and added some twined up buttons to finish it off.

Flutter by...

I wanted to make a card for the current Embellish challenge to use kraft, black, green and butterflies and use my new MTME All a Flutter stamp set.

I have to tell you what a nice person Lauren Meader is...I left a comment on her blog because our kids have something in common and she responded and offered to send my daughter a stress ball because it's been a help to her son.  What a lovely surprise to open the package and not only find a stress ball but find a stamp set for me and one for my daughter.  How stinkin' nice is that?  Seriously, how many people would do that?   My daughter got this cute set and has made Lauren a thank you card and it's ready to mail.  I've also been informed by my daughter that I am not allowed to use her stamp set.  Because it's her set and I don't share my sets! LOL  I do share, but it's not all the time and I'm picky about what sets the kids play with.  Come on, 95% of my stamp sets are clear and easy to lose and often stamp money is hard to come by so I take care of my stuff.  My kids are rough!  I let them go to town with my wood block stamps though--they are easy to find when they fall on the floor.;)

Ok, now on to my challenge card.  I stamped the butterflies in the new PTI Simply Chartreuse ink and when it dried it didn't look so good.  I didn't re-stamp because I actually like it for this card.  It looks distressed to me.

Sorry to post twice in one day, I don't actually like to do that but if I don't post this card now I'll forget to enter the challenge.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you in the morning for the Embellish blog hop!

Stamps:  MTME All a Flutter, PTI Life
Ink:  Memento tuxedo black, PTI simply chartreuse, Versamagic in Wheat
Paper:  PTI Kraft, black polka dot pattern paper.  Creative Memories lined journaling paper, October Afternoon green pattern paper from Cherry Hill.
Misc:  Fancy Border cut file from The Wild Flower Patch Shop, button, circle nesties, bling from The Paper Studio.

Sketch Girl and Embellish Color challenge

In making my Sketch Girl card using one of Morgaine's Frenzified images, my printer decided to stop working.  Miraculously, it printed my image when I tried again this morning and I assembled my card.  Now, blogger won't upload the picture!  What's up with that!? LOL  If I don't laugh about it I will scream.  I'll try again later to upload the card.

For now, here's a card I made loosely based on today's sketch for the Embellish color challenge to use pink, green, blue, yellow and embossing.  I embossed with a little white, glittery embossing powder and added some stitching with yellow thread.  I used some felt I grabbed at Joann's and cut it out with pinking shears.

Please check out the other members of the Sketch Girl team, including our Guest Designer, Teresa Kline.

(Eve, Tiffany, Katie and Randee are taking a break)

**Added my card made with the Frenzified image and the adorable sentiment that goes with it.

Supplies:  Stamp sets--Sentiment from You're Dandy from Practicing Creativity, Dot Spot from Paptertrey Ink.  Cardstock:  PTI: raspberry fizz, summer sunrise, enchanted evening and gable green(?? from SU).  White tinsel embossing powder, enchanted evening ink and versamark ink. twine.

Embellish Challenge

This is my entry for Embellish Magazine's current challenge to use brown, pink and turquoise and embellish with ribbon.  As you can see, I really embellished with ribbon by putting strips of ribbon on the bottom of the card.  I thought it needed something else, so I added the strip of ribbon vertically on the card.  I still thought it needed something  so I added a ribbon scrap bow.  I don't think I've ever used this much ribbon on one card before.

I used the cupcake image from the PTI set Baby button bits and dug a pink button from my gigantic container of buttons to top it off.  I had to add a bit of pink glitter to the cupcake because I can't seem to make a card without glitter these days.  The card looks so much better in person as you can really see the sparkly glitter and the shiny, satin ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
