Spring Smiles

I've got a spring card for you today using a Hero Arts set called Sending Smiles.  I used lots of Memento Ink on this card: Tuxedo Black, Rose Bud and Bamboo Leaves

The card base is some new Hero Hues pattern paper that I won from Hero Arts (still excited about that!) and it's actually 8.5 x 11 cardstock.  I expected thin paper but it's sturdy cardstock that is fabulous for a card base and it's white on the inside.  I also have 3 new Hero Arts stamp sets that haven't seen ink yet.  I really want to play with them but I've been too busy.

Oh, and I am super excited about this:

Have a great day!

Mother's Day card

I found out about the Die Cut Diva's challenge site on Jess's blog and since I love my new Silhouette machine, and I have a mother, I thought I'd participate in the Mother's Day Challenge.  I made this card using a file I purchased from the Silhouette store.  My Mom loves her garden so I'm sure she'll love this flower pot card.

Have a good one!

Happy Spring

I made this spring card using a set called Sending Smiles by Hero Arts.  I stamped the image in Memento Rose Bud ink and computer generated the sentiment. The ribbon is from Michael's and the pattern paper is American Crafts.

The ABC DT Easter Card challenge is still going on so link up your Easter card for a chance to win!

Get Well

I pulled out a couple of my Paper Smooches sets (Boob Tubes, Sentiment Sampler) to make this retro looking get well card.  I had all my Paper Smooches sets spread out in front of me and when I noticed the Get Well sentiment I thought of a sick TV with a droopy antennae.

Supplies: Pattern paper is Basic Grey Marjolaine, cork is by Karen Foster, cardstock , ric rac die and ribbon from Papertrey Ink, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Dark Brown chalk ink from Colorbox, Circle and Inverted Scallop circle nestabilities, Copic markers.

Warm Thoughts

I've been into the super CAS cards lately and made this one this afternoon.  I used the free Easter Basket digi image from Paper Smooches for the fire pit--I just cut off the top portion of the basket with the handle and the easter eggs.  The flames and the stars are from Spiffy Scooters and the sentiment is from Sentiment Sampler

Cardstock, ink and ribbon are all from Papertrey Ink.  I sold my Cricut and had to cut some grass by hand.  Being without an electronic cutter is like going from a riding lawn mower to a push mower. Ugh.

A mix of stuff

I made these bunny place cards for Easter (obviously).  My girls like stuff like this and so do I.  It's fun to make the table all pretty.  I drew the bunny and cut it with my Cricut using Echo Park pattern paper.  The bunny tail is a piece of cotton ball that I just glued on.  I'll put the free bunny shape SVG on my Free templates and tutorials page.

This next set of cards were made on the computer. I used to make cards on the computer years ago  (before I learned how to stamp) because I've got a twisted sense of humor and like to personalize my thinly veiled put downs. LOL    I was just goofing around with some clip art and fonts--I love a good font.  I like graphic cards like this and hope I can get more creative in making them as I learn more and practice.

Thanks for stoppig by and have a wonderful day!

Easter Scene

The inspiration for this card came from several sources...a loose interpretation of a Verve sketch, the way Jen stamps her images occasionally in colored ink instead of pulling out the copics, and Heidi's  pretty Easter card.  This is about as shabby as I can get. LOL
Pattern paper is Echo Park, Little Girl collection and the stamp is a Helz Cuppleditch image

Easter is almost upon us and since you're already whipping out those Easter cards, don't forget to link one up at the ABC DT Challenge Blog where it's all about the Easter cards this month!

Thinkin' of you

I'm adding this card to the Stamping Royalty Reject hop on Amber's blog.  Congrats to Amber who was one of the winners!
I made this card last month and thought I'd post it since I don't have anything new to show you.  On My Couch (Papertrey Ink) is a set I adore but don't use nearly enough.  Pattern paper is from Echo Park, Little Girl collection.  Did you notice my card matches my blog? LOL

I'll be back on Wednesday with something new... an Easter card!

My Mom's birthday card

My Mother does not read my blog or go on Facebook so it's safe to post her card here.  Her birthday is tomorrow and I wanted to make something cute to hold a gift card.  I used the current sketch from the Clean and Simple blog as my inspiration.

I used a My Cute Stamps set named Konnichiwa and computer generated the sentiment using a free font I found online called Bonzai.  Pattern paper is Jillibean Soup.

I also computer generated the inside and couldn't resist adding some lucky numbers since my Mom buys lottery tickets on occasion. The last lucky number (68) is my Mom's age tomorrow.  I traced the gift card with a pencil and cut a couple of slits with a craft knife to hold the card in place.  I put a 1/8" strip of score tape on each end of the sentiment to hold it in place.

A dot of re-positionable adhesive works well to keep the front closed and this card is 4.25 x 5.50 so it will fit perfectly in a regular A2 envelope.

I'll have a free template for that rounded front flap up on the blog soon.  I've got some free stuff on my sidebar which I'll be moving to a page in the near future.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Easter Card

I made this Easter card using an adorable Penny Johnson image by Stampavie. I am a huge fan of white space with bold spots of color so I kept the design very clean and let the bold colored image shine.  I didn't have the exact sentiment I wanted to use so I created one on the computer and printed it directly on my card front.

In my thoughts

I made this card for the Paper Crafts Color Inspiration challenge #3.  I used stamp sets from Hero Arts called Delicate Blossoms and Friends and, with the exception of the Memento Tuxedo Black ink, everything else is from Papertrey Ink.

Easter basket card

There's a new challenge up at the ABC DT Challenge blog and the challenge this month is EASTER CARD.  I made this Easter basket using some Basic Grey Kioshi pattern paper and my Oval Nestabilities.

The bottom portion of the basket was made by die cutting the largest oval and cutting it not quite in half.  I then layerd 1/4" strips on the basket bottom and sponged with white ink.  The basket handle was made by nesting the largest and 2nd largest oval and cutting out a frame and adhering it to the back of the basket.  The eggs were made using the smallest oval in the set. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch and the grass was cut with my Cricut.
