Since I've been playing around with watercolors for a week, I decided to play in the first Virginia's View challenge and since the card is sort of one layer (it's flat), I'm linking this up to Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #154.
I could not capture the glittery accents on this card in a normal shot, so I included a close up of one of the leaves. Like Erin Lincoln did in the MIM video, I stamped the sentiment and then embossed over it with clear embossing powder.
I used my watercolors to ink up my stamp--I had to do this a few times to get vibrant color--then smudged it after it dried a bit before I added some glitter with my Wink of Stella glitter brush. I used regular, white cardstock and this technique worked well.
Speaking of watercolors...I use a cheap, $5 set of watercolors I found at Michael's and an old brush I've had forever. I do have a couple of inexpensive watercolor brushes that are smaller. You don't need expensive supplies to watercolor is my point. I do have watercolor paper and like to use the thickest I can find.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
