Happy Turkey day!

I thought I would post the turkey card I made for my SIL since it's Thanksgiving and all.  My refrigerator stopped working and I had just bought a million pounds of butter and cream cheese and a 20lb turkey.  This card is a thank you to her for turkey sitting. I made a cheesy sentiment inside too. (har har har)  I used the turkey digi image from Wild Flower Kids.

May you eat, drink and get a good nap in this afternoon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

A birthday wish and a project

Today is my baby's 6th birthday.  We had her party last weekend and she made sure to tell people that it wasn't really her birthday yet, it was just her party.  So when someone said Happy Birthday, she corrected them by saying, "Happy Birthday party." She's says the funniest things.  She has yoga at school on Mondays and yesterday as we were walking home, she said she felt "fresh" and "re-born". I'm thinking that came from yoga class. LOL

Now on to a project. Since I have a cute stamp set for boy stuff (No Girls Allowed) I thought I would make my nephew a door knob hanger for his new room.  I used pattern paper by Cosmo Cricket that Harriet gave me.  It turned out to be the perfect blend of colors. I made this little guy blond like my nephew and imagine he would look a bit like this when he's older.  He's only 2 right now.

That's all from me for now.  I'll be back sometime soon with a Christmas project using Jen's super cool digi images.  I am cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year and will start baking tomorrow.  Busy times ahead.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Birthday Boy

Good Monday Morning!  I am exhausted from a weekend of birthday parties and seeing New Moon. I would love to be a slug all day but my house is destroyed--it looks like Christmas went off in here!

On to why I'm here...Jen has released 2 super cute stamp sets today called Pretty in Pink and No Girls Allowed through the Stamp Happens Shop.   I got the privilege of working with No Girls Allowed and made this cute, but simple birthday card using some really old SU pattern paper I found in my stash.  I colored him with copics and tried to give his clothes a faded, worn out look.  I have a young nephew and I'm happy to have this set to make things for him.

The design team has done it again and made some gorgeous projects and I hope you'll check them out:

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a fantastic Monday!

Funky Christmas card

I've been really busy the last few days re-decorating my 8yo daughter's room and had to stop and take a stamp break this afternoon.  I wanted to make a funky Christmas card and used some digi images (tree and sentiment) from Wild Flower Kids.  The text background is a .pdf that I'm pretty sure came from Mel Stampz blog but I'm not positive. It's Christmas dictionary text and I printed it on rustic white cardstock.  I used more of the Basic Gray Eskimo Kisses paper with a card base of PTI Sweet Blush.  My 6yo chose the button.
Short and sweet tonight, I've got some paint brushes to clean.  Painting is such a pain but the clean up is even worse!  Have a good one!

Merry Christmas, You sweet thing!

Today is the day! The newest releases from StampInsanity stamps are available.  This is Morgan all dressed up in her santa suit.  Isn't she a sassy little thing!?!  I used a couple of strips of some Basic Gray that Harriet gave me.  I think it's from the Eskimo Kisses line.  I pulled out my neglected bottle of Icicle Stickles and used it to bling up Morgan's fur accents.

You can see all 3 new rubber stamp releases here.  Don't forget to check out the rest of the design team--these are some talented ladies!

Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful day!

SG8

SG8 is an interesting sketch and turned out to be easy to do.  I hope you will play along on the Sketch Girl blog and link your creation.  If you upload to an online gallery, like SCS, please use keyword SG8.
I used some SU pattern paper that Harriet gave me--Thanks Harriet!  I adore this pattern paper and it's so much prettier in person.  I was in the mood to use one of my old favorite color combos of orange, blue and brown.  I threw a bit of green in there too.  I used a digital image from Wild Flower Kids and cut out the middle pumpkin and popped it up on dimensionals.

The Sketch Girl design team has some gorgeous work to show you with this sketch, check it out:

Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Bramble Box

This is the cutest scarecrow! His name is Bramble and he's a digi image available here. Those of you that know me know my coloring skills are passable at best--I'm hopeful I'll get better with experience.  For others like me that are a bit challenged in that area, I have a tip for you.  Copy someone else!  I went to Jen's blog, she's the artist for this image too, and pretty much copied her colors to the best of my ability.  Otherwise, I would still be sitting here trying to figure out what colors to use. LOL  Luckily, I had this awesome paper from Cosmo Cricket that went well with the Copic colors I (ok, Jen) chose.
This is a really cute box in person and I filled it with candy corn.  It was hard for me to capture it's cuteness in a photo.  Before I adhered the box together, I punch a hole in the bottom so I could run the twine through it.
I found this box template here.  Thanks for dropping by! I'll see you in a couple of days for the Sketch Girl sketch release!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

I love snowmen!  I have more snowmen in my holiday decorations than anything else and when I saw Jen's images for today's Wild Flower Kids release I knew the snowman would be the first one I would use.  The collection is called Tis' the Season and all the images are seriously cute.

I used my never ending pack of Basic Gray Figgy Pudding paper--I'm certain when I use a sheet another one grows in it's place. I went with my beloved twine instead of ribbon for that rustic look I love so much.  I used some Pink Paislee glitter around the edges and it's pretty and sparkly in person like I imagine snow would be. *sigh* I'm hoping for a really good snow this year.  My oldest daughter is 8 and she's never experienced a big snow.

All the talented members of the Design Team have projects to show you today, so get comfy and start blog hopping.  You'll get some amazing ideas!

Thanks for stopping by and for more inspiration, check out the Wild Flower Patch blog!  Have a wonderful day!

Twilight Bookmarks

Alyssa sent me the most beautiful bookmark awhile back and I decided to make a couple of Twilight versions using my Otherworldly Loves stamp set.  I made one for Edward and one for Jacob so I can please both teams.

Both are simple but effective.  My kids love them and my oldest daughter loves the Edward version. On Jacob's, I stamped the feet/paw prints with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by and if you've seen my MOJO, tell her to come home.

P.S.  Alyssa is giving away some awesome blog candy.

SG7

Hello everyone!  Today is the release of Sketch Girl's 7th sketch appropriately named SG7. See the sketch here.  I used a digi image from WildFlower Kids to make this Thanksgiving inspired card.  I used the new Vintage Label stamp set from Papertrey and it was loaned to me by my good friend, Harriet.  Harriet, you may have to pry this set from my cold, dead hands. LOL  Just kidding.  I do like this set and am adding it to my PTI wish list that is 10 miles long. *sigh*

My card is 3.5 x 5.5 and the large pattern paper panel measures 3.25 x 3.25.

Don't forget to check out the other Sketch Girls and our Guest Designer, Amber!

Non Card projects

I haven't been in much of a mood to create lately so I thought I'd show you some projects I made a few weeks ago.  On both projects I used sentiments from my stamp set Meet Henry and Morgan from StampInsanity Stamps.  I used the Rounded Wrap Up template from Papertrey Ink for this project.  The flower stamp is also part of Meet Henry and Morgan.  Stampers are so generous and RAK often so this sentiment is an excellent one to have on hand.

This next project is a 4x4 notebook I made with my Bind it all machine.  I used a 4x4 acrylic cover for this book that lays over top of the pattern paper.  I tied the bow on the outside of the cover and that holds the pattern paper and the cover together.  For picture taking purposes I'm not showing the acrylic cover because of the glare.  Isn't this a lovely sentiment and a gorgeous font?!

Thanks for stopping by and I'll have some new stuff to show you soon.  The next Sketch Girl sketch is coming up in a couple of days and I have some autumn projects to show you.  Have a great day!

Supplies:  StampInsanity Stamps are available exclusively through the Stamp Happens Shop.

Pattern paper and cardstock is from Papertrey Ink: Bitty Dot in Berry Sorbet, Black and Rustic White.  Ribbon is Berry Sorbet.  Ink is Memento in Tuxedo black.
