Sketch Girl SG18: Soft Pencil

The sponsor for the current Sketch Girl sketch challenge is Softpencil.  I was not familiar with Softpencil until this challenge and must say that the images are darling!

A bit about Softpencil...
"Hello everyone! my name is Elizabeth Pujalka and I´m the illustrator and designer behind Softpencil - Digital Stamps, home of Michu and his lovely friends, where you can find cute illustrations for your crafting needs. My illustrations are a homage to the Nature and their creatures, where a sweet child, a simple flower or a fragile animal become protagonists.I invite you to know my whimsical world plenty of gorgeous characters and to enjoy creating with them!"

I'm a sucker for nice, clean art and Elizabeth  was generous and provided the DT with an image to use.  I used Molly in Spring for my card. I gave Molly leggings because my youngest daughter wears matching leggings with her dresses.

I'm going to be honest and tell you that I had a horrible time designing a card for this sketch even though I drew the darn thing! I told Julie that it's a sad, shameful day when a person can't make a card with their own sketch! LOL My Mojo ran off and I'm hoping she tracked down Gerard Butler and they are vacationing somewhere sunny and warm!

I think my card turned out cute and the DT turned out some great stuff with this sketch...check it out:

Guest Designer, Piali Biswas

I'm totally obsessed with this car!

What's my deal with this car? LOL  I love this set but I still have 2 other new sets that I have not made anything with because I can't get off this one.  I have at least one more car idea in me and then I will (hopefully) force myself to move to another stamp set.

Here's my entry in the Papercrafts sketch challenge #2.  I used the awesome rays from You're Dandy by Practicing Creativity.  I'm really into the white on white right now too.

Short and sweet, gotta get ready for my newly 9yo daughter's 2nd birthday party--she turned 9 last weekend and had a sleepover party.  We're getting with hubby's side of the family today to celebrate.

Ink used is raspberry fizz, lemon tart, hawaiian shores and orange zest from Papertrey Ink.  The green on the car is a VersaMagic Dew Drop in Aloe Vera.

Some challenge cards

Maybe you have noticed all the posting I've been doing lately...I'm trying to do more challenges. I figured I should probably group them.

This card is for the current Embellish challenge to use light aqua, light pink, kraft and use stitching.  I originally did not intend to make a baby card, but the colors were so soft and pretty that I immediately went the baby route. I used Papertrey Ink's Baby Button Bits, Life and Tin Type background sets. I stamped the image from Life in Versarmark and embossed with clear embossing powder.

This next card is for the Saturday sketch challenge on Paper Craft Planet.  I really love this sketch and am happy with how this card turned out.  I used some new Papertrey Ink stuff...Green boutique pattern paper, Hawaiian Shores cardstock.  Ribbon is PTI's New Leaf bitty dot ribbon.

Well, that's all I've got for now. I'll be back tomorrow with a new Sketch Girl challenge and a new template from Perfect Presentation! Have a great Monday!

Sunday Sketch Play

Good Sunday to you!  I woke up to a rainy day and thought it would be a perfect day to stamp.  One of my first design team gigs was with Creative Clear Stamps.  I thought I would play in their first sketch challenge and pulled out one of my favorite stamps from the sentiment singles line, Going Bra-less.

For the inside I used a sentiment from Sassy Happy Birthday (? I think that's the name).

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps from Creative Clear Stamps.  Pattern paper from The paper studio and My mind's eye.  Cardstock is kraft and vintage cream from Papertrey Ink.  Ink is SU's basic gray.  Ribbon is So Saffron from SU and twine is from my LSS.

Get Sketchy #31

This is my card using Get Sketchy's latest challenge.  I don't think I've ever played with them before.  I have good intentions but tend to lack follow through when it comes to challenges.  If you are a normal reader of my blog, you will notice that I went for a different look than my usual style with this card.  It never hurts to step outside of your own box and see what happens.
Hope your Friday is awesome!

Supplies:  Delightful Dahlia and dies, Hawaiian Shores (and ink), Kraft, white cardstock, buttons, and Fillable Frames #2 and die all from Papertrey Ink.  Pattern paper is some really old SU!.  Circle stamps are from Thanks so Much by SU! Martha Stewart glue and glitter.  Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Papertrey Ink  Melon Berry and Spring Moss copic trios.

SG14: Frenzified

Sketch Girl has a brand new sketch challenge today with Frenzified as our sponsor.  The winner of this challenge will receive a $15 shopping spree to the Frenzified store and will receive a special not yet released image!

Morgaine Ford-Workman is the owner/artist behind Frenzified and gave the design team some images to play with.  I love cupcakes, so I went with an image from the Birthday Bakes collection and this awesome sentiment.  I adore this font and arrangement of this sentiment.

I went with a fresh, bright color scheme as I'm ready for Spring!

Check out the rest of the design team:

Deanne Kuntz, Guest Designer

(Jennie, Katie and Eve are sitting this sketch out.)

Vampires need love too!

I've been a stamping maniac lately and have several things to show you and thought I'd share this one first.  I created this card for the Stamp Happens sketch challenge.  The prize is the new Zeke & Maddie stamp set from StampInsanity stamps.  You can see the challenge info HERE.  Anyway, you don't have to use a StampInsanity image, but I have some so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

I  pulled out my Halloween Henry set since Vampires are hot all year round.  This set has sentiments in it that are not specific to Halloween and that's what I love about it!  You can see the set HERE.  The challenge wasn't just a sketch it also has a theme, which is love.

Here's the inside of the card.

The top sentiment comes from the Halloween Henry set and the Happy Valentine's Day is from Stampin' Up.

Speaking of sketch challenges...Have you made your Sketch Girl entry yet???

An apple a day...

Good Morning! I've been sporadically without a computer for the last couple of days while we transfer files to our new computer, so while hubby finished up with that last night I stamped. I could have cleaned the living room, but I thought stamping would be a better use of my time. This card uses another one of those zingy Sentiment Singles from Creative Clear Stamps. This one is called Going Bra-less.
I wanted to use the new Sheetload of Cards sketch for August, so I came up with this card. This is going to be my shoebox swap card this week since I have enough of that delicious October Afternoon paper. I wanted to make an apple card that wasn't school related so I made this one as a get well card. The inside sentiment was computer generated and printed on my cardstock. I am really into the rustic look right now. I hope you aren't sick of it yet. Card size is 4.25 x 4.25 and the squares are 1.75 x 1.75.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CPS 108 Mother's Day Card

This is my take on CPS sketch 108. I used my scor-pal to emboss on the side and the bottom and pulled out an old set from SU called Because of You. I stamped Happy Mother's Day inside and plan on giving this to my mother this year. I know it doesn't contain a beautiful, mushy poem that's so common in Mother's Day cards, but I don't do mushy. Mushy makes me feel...weird. I know, I've got mush issues. This card looks better in person. I had a terrible time getting a good shot of it.

Thanks for stopping by and join me tomorrow evening for Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop!

A little coffee in the kitchen

This is my card using Card Patterns Sketch #4. I'll admit I had to think about this sketch for a bit before attempting it. I have some oval issues. I love ovals, but don't always use them so well. I cut my ovals using my Wishblade and luckily I already had this Aqua Mist/Basic Grey Oval combo cut or I would be out of luck. (My Wishblade needs a new blade and I can't cut anything with it right now.) I drew out a rough draft of the design while waiting on my daughter to get out of school this afternoon so putting it together didn't take long, it was just a matter of color scheme. I went with mainly PTI colors (Ocean Tides, white, aqua mist) and threw in some SU pumpkin pie to go with the coffee cup. Coffee cup is from one of my favorite sets called Warm Happiness from... PTI of course! The top portion of the card was stamped using PTI's Polka Dot Basics and the bottom portion is from PTI's Guidelines set. Hmm, do I love PTI or what? You can't tell in the picture, but the button is sewn on the ribbon.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

WSC70

This card is for Weekend Sketch Challenge #70. I bought a few new sheets of paper yesterday at the LSS and wanted to use it. See the sketch here. This paper is whimsical and fun and I also bought a coordinating bird stamp (for a $1!!!!) but couldn't make it work with this layout. The bird was just too big. I ended up going with an image from the set Riveting by SU.

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday, I need to get my bottom in gear and deliver some Girl Scout cookie orders. Fun, fun!
Supplies: Kraft, Aqua Mist and White cardstock from PTI, Cool Caribbean cardstock from SU, Patterned paper by Imaginisce and October Afternoon, SU scallop & circle punches, True Black ink from PTI and Rose Red by SU, Pumpkin Pie ribbon from SU, Stampin dimensionals.

CPS sketch 104

Here's my card using Card Positioning Systems sketch #104. I'm not getting good color in my photos lately and I'm sure it's because I had a light blow out in my craft room. I keep forgetting to get a new bulb.

I used all PTI on this card, white, spring moss, aqua mist, true black ink, vintage button, Quilter's Sampler stamp set and Everday Blessings patterned paper. I used versamark to stamp the thread spool.

Card Patterns Sketch 3

I got my new PTI stuff yesterday and was happy to use my new set Friends 'til the end stamp set on this week's sketch from Card Patterns. I used raspberry fizz ink and ribbon along with a strip of my new black & white patterned paper. This post is short because hubby fixed the grill and should be back any minute with the steaks.

Have a great weekend!

Card Patterns Sketch 2

This is my card using this week's sketch from Card Patterns. I used some old patterned paper from Stampin Up (gosh, I'm forgetting names of the older stuff) along with Bashful Blue cardstock for the base. Papertrey Ink's Spring moss ribbon and cardstock is used along with a strip of dots from the Polka Dot Basics stamp set. Thank you circle with the flower comes from SU's set Seeing Spots. Scallops are from my Martha Stewart Simple Scallop edge punch. This card is sized 4.25 x 4.25 which I think is an excellent size for this sketch.
Thanks so much for dropping by!

Friends 'til the end and Mojo73

The retired Love Matters stamp set from SU is perfect for today's PTI challenge and today's Mojo Monday sketch turned out to be the perfect layout for what I had in mind. To make my card a little more interesting, I shifted the layout to the edge and embossed the other end with a cuttlebug embossing strip. I'm happy with how this card turned out and I used some of my old SU paper too!
What I used: PTI Kraft & Spring Moss cardstock, SU dsp, SU So Saffron and Regal Rose cardstock, SU Love Matters stamp set, Cuttlebug embossing strip, MS scallop edge punch, SU markers

Whimsical Easter

I've been posting like a maniac this past week and that's not normal for me. There is just so much going on out there in the world of stamping right now. This card is for the Mojo Monday 72 sketch contest and I wasn't going to do it because I just couldn't figure out what to do. The kids are in bed and I decided to give it a shot. This card is small (4.25 x 4.25) and I actually like how it turned out. It's whimsical and fun. I used some Aqua Mist cardstock and ribbon from PTI and Cool Caribbean and Pink Passion from Stampin Up. Stamp set is a Studio G $1 set and the faux doodling is a set I picked up at Hobby Lobby awhile back, I don't recall who makes it--Stampabilities maybe?

Thanks for stopping by!

CPS102

This is the card I made using CPS Sketch 102 as inspiration. I basically stayed true to the sketch and in lieu of the heart shape I used the bow and the ribbon tag. Patterned paper is from October Afternoon and cardstock is Cool Caribbean(retired) from Stampin Up. I used a Spellbinder's ribbon tag die and the Welcome sentiment comes from Papertrey Ink's Warm Hospitality set. There's that MS scalloped edge punch again...it's in the sketch so that means I have to use it.
Thanks for coming by!

Another $1 stamp card...

What is it with me and $1 stamps? I found this cute little owl today at Michael's and had to have it. Owls can be creepy. Have you ever seen an Owl swooping down to get it's dinner? Very creepy. I put a flower in her hair so she'd be in a party mood since I plan to use this as a birthday card. The design of this card came from a sketch I found on Card Patterns. Patterned paper is from October Afternoon (I found it this afternoon!) and the ribbon is from Papertrey Ink (SPring Moss). I used the Labels 2 die from Spellbinders --I love this set!Cardstock is Naturals Ivory by Stampin Up and Kraft by Papertrey Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend!
