Bloom Friend

I'll admit I am a bit obsessed with this flower stamp

I embossed with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper.  I watercolored with distress inks--picked raspberry and spiced marmalade go together well and look like watermelon wonder to me.  The card base is Watermelon Wonder and I stamped the Brushstrokes background stamp diagonally in WW ink.

You can't see the watercolor detail well in the main photo, so here is a close up of the flower.  I went over the watercolor with a clear wink of stella pen.

Do you hear this card screaming for sequins? :)  I do!  Unfortunately, I don't have a good sequin color in my stash to use on this card so I will have to add some once my sequin order arrives.

bloom thank you

I colored the flower from Birthday Blooms (so glad I got this set) with copics and added some additional decoration with a white gel pen.  The sentiment is from the set One Big Meaning and I embossed the background with a  SU embossing folder called Stylish Stripes.

Another day of participating the The Daily Marker's 30 day coloring challenge.

More birthday blooms

I used the small flower from Birthday Blooms and Birthday Bouquet pattern paper.  The pattern paper looks more green in my photo but it's mint macaron.

I used the Triple Banner Punch for the banner piece. I colored the bloom with copic markers R20, R00 and G21,G24. Layout is from this sketch.

I'm participating as much as I can with The Daily Marker's 30 day coloring challenge.

Freshly Made Sketches #174

I made a card.  It's hard to believe, I know. :)  It's been so long I had to reset my password to access my blog. ha ha

I've been digging around challenge blogs trying to find something to spark some creativity of any kind and decided to try the new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Beautiful Butterfly

Poor lighting this evening (I've got to get another lamp!), but I was able to capture some of the gold shimmer on the butterfly.  I die cut a white butterfly and sprayed it with gold shimmer spray- it's a lovely look in person.

This Beautiful Butterflies (Papertrey Ink) stamp set and coordinating die set is, for lack of a better word, beautiful!

Have a wonderful evening!

Aqua & Melon PTI Blog Hop: May 2014

My card looks orange but it's really more melon in person--terrible lighting today!  I used 2 shades of melon...stamped in a lighter melon and the card base is a darker papaya color.

Seize the Sketch # 20 ...brightly!

Is this a bright card or what? :)  I love this Mama Elephant set called We Click.

Pulled out my neglected Copics to color the camera.  I'm in such a watercolor frenzy right now I tried to watercolor it on regular cardstock--I laid down some ink with my copic marker and promptly grab a water color brush and tried to move that ink around...it did not work out so I had to start over. :)

I took some liberties with the sketch but I still think you can see the sketch in there.

CFC 122: Out on a limb

Happy Friday!

This week you are challenged to create a clean and simple project that contains a tree or trees!  It's the perfect time of year to bust out your tree stamps.

I used my favorite Christmas Tree die (Papertrey Ink) to make this card.  I die cut the tree from copy paper and used it as a template to stamp the tree with my Hero Arts Stamp your Story stamp set I bought months ago and have never, ever used!  I can't remember the name of the stamp set but it's the one with the brushstrokes and paint splats.  I finished the card off with some snowflakes and sentiment from a Paper Smooches set.

Link up your project for a chance to win an awesome prize from Ellen Hutson!

I used 8 different colors on my card--yes, I'm counting the twine color as one of the 8... in case you were counting. :)   I've been in Christmas mode but decided to make a bright, fresh all purpose card for this challenge.

Best wishes

Very simple, fall inspired card.  I love the aqua green color mixed in with the more traditional fall colors--it freshens everything up.

I was inspired by the recent class from Online Card Classes called Insider and carried my design on to the inside.  I only used some strips of pattern paper on the inside, but in person, it's really nice and makes the card feel finished.

Supplies:

Pattern paper is from Webster's Pages.
Sketch from Deconstructed Sketch #95
Stamp set from Papertrey Ink (Fabulous Frames?? I'll have to look it up!)
Ink is Dark Chocolate (PTI) and Crisp Cantaloupe (SU)
Cardstock is Melon Berry& White (PTI), Pool Party (SU),

Hello Kitty card

Simple card but it took forever to make--all those small pieces were a pain to glue down.  This card is for my niece who is having her 7th birthday party today and loves Hello Kitty.

My youngest daughter chose the pattern paper and helped design the card.

The pink pattern paper and the pink scallop strip match better in person!
I found a .jpeg of Hello Kitty online and used the trace feature in my Silhouette software to turn it into a cut file.  I had to do a little cleaning up but it was pretty easy overall.  I have a co-worker who adores Hello Kitty, so I'll get to use this file again.

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Who's got the button or is it Whose got the button??

Grammar, argh! I'm too lazy to worry about it right now.  Ok, now I'm wondering if I spelled grammar right...what's up with me today??

Happy Friday!  It's time for a new challenge and it's buttons!  I have a giant jar of buttons plus more hanging around various areas of my super messy craft space so I was happy to use a few this week.
Yep, it's an iphone pic.  No, I still haven't found my battery charger.
Maybe you've noticed I've got a thing for a layer with rounded corners on my card base and tied with twine or floss.  This is, what, my 3rd card like this recently?  I'm into it right now, what can I say.
CAS-ual Fridays always has the best sponsors...

Summer Card Camp 2: Week 3

This card is for week 3, day 1...which was yesterday.

This week's color combo is a tough one.  I used all the colors but added a color not on the list--the green leaves-- to make it work for me.  I did use one of the sketches this week but modified it a bit.  I stamped the flowers and then embossed them with glittery embossing powder.

Made the banner by hand thanks to Jennifer McGuire's video yesterday and I think that excites me more than anything.  Sometimes it's the simple things that have the biggest impact.

Thanks for stopping by!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps:  Cutting Garden and For The Record (papertrey ink)

Turning 10 is totally the bomb!

Terrific challenge this week... use a number or numbers in your clean and simple project.

I thought it would be cute to use the bomb fuse from a set called Ka-Boom (CAS-ual Fridays Stamps) to add a little pop to the number 10 on my card.  The 'Hoping your birthday is' sentiment is from another CFS set called Amazeballs

This week's challenge runs for 2 weeks so you have gobs of time to make several cards for this one!

Super duper cool sponsor this week...

Supplies
Stamps:  Ka-Boom & Amazeballs (CAS-ual Fridays Stamps)

Summer Card Camp 2: Day 1

This is my first time participating in an online card class... I'm hoping it helps me with my mojo.  I managed to use all 5 of the colors for this week and used one of the sketches.

My goal for this class is to add more details to my projects.  Obviously, I have not started doing that yet. LOL

I'm hoping I will be able to participate everyday--full time job gets in the way!  If not, I'll definitely be watching the videos and perusing the gallery.

Thanks for stopping by!

CFC 106: Over the Edge

CFC106

TGIF!!  This week you are challenged to create a CAS project with panels or elements that go off the edge.

The colors look off in the photo.  The scalloped rectangle is actually not orange, it's melon colored and more closely coordinates with the pattern paper.  I could not get the colors to photograph properly.
I know 2 people turning forty in the near future so this card is very much needed right now.  My husband turns 40 next month and I'm looking forward to making a special card for him.

I trimmed my usual A2 card size down so that even with the panel hanging over the edge of my card base, it will still fit in an A2 envelope.

I used the WTF stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps--our sponsor this week!

This week's winner will win a prize from

 CFS Blog Button

WOOT! WOOT!

Additional Supplies used:

Cardstock: Basic Gray (SU!), White (PTI)
Pattern Paper:  American Crafts
Dies:  Scalloped rectangle nestabilities, 40 cut with my Silhouette machine.
Ink:  Pallette Noir, Pale Tomato (Hero Arts)

pinterest inspired 100th birthday card

My mom needed a birthday card for a lady at her church who is turning 100.  I found this graphic on Pinterest and thought it was a cute idea for a birthday card.

I snapped a quick pic through Instragram before I passed the card on to my Mom.

Pattern paper is from Echo Park, the tag and sentiments were created on the computer.  No stamping on this one.
