End of the road...

This is my final post as a member of the Creative Clear Stamps Design Team.  The new Design Team starts October 1st and I hope you'll check them out.  Time got away from me this month, so here are my last 2 projects for September.  I used sentiment singles for both cards--  I'm Your Friend and Sending Love. I also used some really, really old SU! pattern paper that I found in my stash.  I can't remember the name but I still like it.

Gotta run but thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a great day!

Cardstock by Papertrey Ink.  Pattern paper from SU!  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Choc Chip.  PTI Ribbon and Melon Berry Button.

Birthday set & Would you like to win some stamps??

I was thinking of birthday ideas and decided to make a card with a coordinating tag.  It would be nice to have several sets like this on hand to make it easy when you need them.  One day, when I have more time I plan on doing just that. I used the set Sassy Happy Birthday from Creative Clear Stamps on both projects.

Make a card and win some stamps! Sketch Girl is giving away 5 Sentiment Singles from Creative Clear Stamps.  Check out the Sketch Girl blog for all the details. Hurry, the contest ends around midnight on September 29th!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful afternoon!

Supplies:  October afternoon cherry Hill pattern paper, Fiskars star punch, Spellbinder's tag die, SU spiral punch, Kraft cardstock from PTI. Celery ribbon from SU. Button is from PTI in berry sorbet.

It's Monday for sure

How do I know it's Monday? Well, I got up late and had to rush around getting the kids off to school--I was dreaming I had to be at a meeting at midnight and no matter what I did I couldn't get anywhere. In one part of the dream I jumped in the car to drive only to realize I was in the backseat. I have weird dreams all the time...one included a Bombshell Stamps store in the mall and a naked, dancing, Tony Danza. Tony looked really good by the way, I can still picture all those muscles and that golden skin... I'll stop there as my blog needs to stay G or PG. Anyway, I had to jog the kids to school and they barely made it on time. Hubby was even late getting out the door. I HATE being late --it stresses me out worse than anything else! I just noticed that my youngest daughter's lunch is still sitting in the kitchen, so I'll have to run it down to the school before lunch. *sigh* I have a busy day and have to get going but wanted to share some stuff before I head out the door.
I've been playing around with my PTI set, Everyday Button Bits. This is a must have set. It's kind of funny that I've hardly used buttons with this set as intended. I love using punches with it.

This card uses a sentiment from Sassy Happy Birthday from Creative Clear Stamps. This is one of my favorite birthday sets. Laura has a big announcement today over on the Creative Clear Stamps blog. So check over there later to see what's going on.I finally used a button! Alert the media! Sorry for the fuzzy photo, I didn't realize it was a bit blurred until I was editing it and by that time I was just too lazy to re-do it. I think it's clear enough to get the idea. This button came from a Bag of Buttons by the paper studio and some of the buttons already had some bling stuck in them. This is the large bird from Everyday Button Bits.

I'm off and running but will be back tomorrow with the latest sketch from Sketch Girl. I'd give you a peek, but I haven't actually made the card yet. I know, BAD Sketch Girl! Don't flog me, I've been busier than usual. If you want some peeks, check out the other Sketch Girls. Their links are on my left sidebar.
Thanks and have a great Monday!

I'm loving these sentiment singles! (and a Sketch Girl peek)

These sentiment singles are so much fun! Here's another little zinger from Creative Clear Stamps. This one is called Huff and Puff. I have one more zinger up my sleeve and will have it ready to show you in the near future. You can see the other sentiment singles here.

Can you believe it's almost time for a new Sketch Girl sketch? Two weeks really go by fast! We're getting close to 100 followers on the Sketch Girl blog. As soon as we hit 100, then I'll draw the winners. See more details here.

Here's a peek at what I have to show you on the 15th...

I also want to say a BIG THANK YOU to Kerri and Heather for giving me a blog award. I really appreciate it and I'm posting them on my sidebar. Thank you, ladies!

You're only as old as you feel...

That is so true! I took my girls swimming yesterday and we hung out in the deep end for awhile and I pushed off the side of the pool to show the girls how to do a back flip in the water and boy did my stomach and back muscles protest! I used to be so flexible back in my gymnastics days, now I'm older and out of shape. I would probably instantly die if I took off running and did a couple of back handsprings. Seriously, die right on the spot. Forget about doing the splits. We used to have to do splitwalks and backbend walks to warm up. If you fell before you reached the end of the mat, you had to do sit ups. I never fell. I hate sit ups. LOL Alas, a back flip off a mini trampoline ended my gymnastics. I landed wrong and cracked my foot. It was horribly painful and I had to hobble around school with a book bag which was so not cool at the time. I tried going back to gymnastics but it wasn't the same. My 8yo is a natural and I'll be signing her up for gymnastics in the near future. She's taught herself how to do a handstand and flip over into a back bend but she can't pull herself up out of it yet.

Ok, enough talk of my glory days. Here's a card for you. I used more of the October Afternoon Cherry Hill pattern paper. I used a sketch from Friday Sketchers and the stamp is a sentiment single from Creative Clear Stamps called Feeling Old. Finished card size is 4.25 x 4.25. Have a great Sunday!

Odd size cards

First, let me say that I am tickled pink to be part of the new Stamp Sistahs Design Team! It's going to be lots of fun and I can't wait to share it with you!

Now, on to the cards...

These cards are 3 x 5.5 and are easily made without much waste by cutting your standard 4.25 x 5.5 card down to 3 x 5.5. You are left with a 1.25 x 5.5 piece that could be used for a scrapling card or added to your scrap pile and used with punches.

This first card is a case of myself. I made a card like this before using a cupcake as the image and I used fresher colors. This sentiment single stamp, Sending Love, from Creative Clear Stamps is perfect for me to use when I need a sympathy card. I went with a subdued color scheme of SU's Basic Gray and some October Afternoon paper. I added a pop of color using PTI's Berry Sorbet. The flourish comes from a set by Inkadinkadoo.

The next card is what I call Rustic Life. I have a small obsession with twine and Kraft cardstock. I stamped the polka dots with SU's Basic Gray. The gray ink did not like the polka dot stamp and it beaded up. I went with it because I wanted a rustic look. I normally have no problem with SU ink and my PTI stamps.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hooked on Fishing

I made a couple of projects using the Hooked on Fishing set from Creative Clear Stamps. We don't fish, but my girls love worms! They love worms even more if they are edible but they are not opposed to digging up a few for study.

I made this edible tackle box that I filled with minnows (Swedish Fish) and worms (Gummy, of course!). This would be a cute party favor or a funny gift for the fisher...person in your life. I used a nugget tin from Papertrey Ink along with the tag tin insert template that Nichole Heady provides on her blog. I got some fishing pattern paper from my LSS and some wood grain paper to wrap around the tin. As you can see I used my beloved twine.
The next project uses one of my favorite My Timeless Templates, Rounded Wrap-Up. This template is super easy to put together. I stamped Got Worms in red Staz-on but it's not showing up so well in the picture. This little worm box is really cute in person. Sorry about my stinky picture.Check out the Creative Clear Stamps blog to see some great projects the Design Team has created.

Tommorrow will be a sneak peek of the next Sketch Girl project and on the 30th the 2nd sketch will be revealed along with information on how you can win a stamp set.

Moxie Fab World Bag Lady Challenge

I saw the latest Moxie Fab challenge and had to enter. Check it out here. I know it was just announced this morning, but I was inspired and can make a card really quick when I get that way. My inspiration was the Reid Velvet Satchel by Fossil and since I'm Sketch Girl, I used the design of the purse as a sketch. Sentiment is from Creative Clear Stamps (Sassy Happy Birthday--love this set!!) and all the pattern paper is from October Afternoon Cherry Hill.
Since I had the scraps laying around, I whipped up this card. I am getting lots of use out of PTI's Life set and it's one of my favorites. I am sure you notice I also have a love of Kraft cardstock and twine. I used the new Modern Label punch from SU (Thanks, Mary Ann!) and a sentiment from SU's Trendy Trees (Thanks, Alli!).
I've got some stuff to show you from Creative Clear Stamps and KLM Designs, so I'll be back soon! Thanks for looking!

A couple of things...

Happy Friday! I wanted to show you a couple of things I made using Baby Butterflies alphabet from Creative Clear Stamps. The first project is a $1 notebook from Michaels. Both my girls love stationary so I personalized the notebook for Natalie. As I've mentioned before, my girls fight over everything so personalization is a must around here. This alphabet is really cute and easy to line up because it's clear. It comes with 2 different sizes too! I used the larger size for the Notes and the smaller size for Natalie's name.
My next project is a door knob hanger for my oldest daughter. It's a girly way to say Keep Out! My youngest daughter has requested one for her door after seeing this one. I bought an unfinished wood door knob hanger from Hobby Lobby super cheap and I'm using it as my template. I traced it onto my cardstock and cut it out. I used the large size of the alphabet for Lizzie's Room and the smaller size was perfect for Keep Out.

Two super simple and quick projects. There's a new line of single stamps just released with some really great sentiments so run on over to the store and check them out. The Creative Clear Stamps blog has some awesome project ideas from the other DT members too. Have a great weekend!

Sassy Happy Birthday + blog candy winner

Good Morning! I enjoyed my little vacation but I'm happy to be back so I can show you some things I've been working on. I got the Sassy Happy Birthday set from Creative Clear Stamps and I love it! It's got some funny birthday sayings and I'm getting a kick out of using it.

This first card uses a sentiment that cracked me up when I first read it. You are too old for gifts. I love it! I want to use this sentiment on a card for my sister's birthday because she's 10 years older than me and I always give her a hard time about her age. Like when I was 15 she turned 25 and I kept saying, "Wow, you are a quarter of a century old!"
This next card uses a sentiment I hear from my kids twice a year, "What are you getting me for [insert sister's name here] birthday?" Your eyes are not deceiving you...that is a teeny tiny clothes pin clipped on my card. I found them at Hobby Lobby. The size of this card is 3.5 x 5.
Now for the moment you've all been waiting for. The winner of the My Timeless Template blog candy is....
Morgaine
I recently purchased some stamps from stamps from Michael's (the dollar bin mostly) but I found some great stamps to use for any occasions- birds, floral designs, etc. Thanks for the chance to enter (and I'm already a follower of yours on google!)

Creative Clear Stamps projects

Here are some projects I made using Girls Weekend and Surprise Party from Creative Clear Stamps. These are 2 fun stamps sets to have and there's still free shipping going on in the store for the rest of June. I cut the T-Shirt with my Wishblade and the pen detail was done with the Wishblade too. I call this one the man party invitation. I think the little can is so cute and the BEER portion could be covered if you want to make it something else. This was the first card I made with my new stamps and I couldn't resist using my Liquid Applique to make the beer foam.

This card uses Surprise Party and as I've said before, this is a great all purpose party/invitation set to have. This card is simple and looks so much better in person. When I'm making invitations, I like to keep them super simple but cute because it gets hard when you have to make 20 of them! I dislike making multiples in case you were wondering.

Ok, I'm taking a vacation for the rest of June. I've been extremely busy this last month and need a week to recharge my creative batteries. I'll still be checking e-mail so it won't get out of control. I've received my Creative Clear Stamp assigments for July and already have my ideas sketched out, so you'll be seeing lots of new stuff soon. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you in July!

Surprise Party

This is an invitation I made using Surprise Party from Creative Clear Stamps. I've said this before, but this is a great all purpose party set to have for any type of party. The Date, Time, Location, etc. stamps are awesome to have on hand, especially with kids who like to have birthday parties. I really like the Guest of Honor stamp because that's missing in other birthday/invitation sets I've had before and I usually had to write my child's name in somewhere on the invitation. Check out the Creative Clear Stamps blog and vote for the winner of the first blog challenge. Also, there is free shipping for the month of June!

Thanks for stopping by!

Copic Class

I attended my first Copic class last night and am happy with what I colored. Of course, I still need tons of practice but it's a good start. One thing I did learn is red is hard to work with--such an unforgiving color. My owl needs work and strangely it looks better in person. Funny how the camera shows all the flaws you don't notice in person. I'm not going to show you the other flower bouquet I colored because it's pretty bad.

If you live near Knoxville (TN), check out Scrapbooks & More. SB & More are now selling Copics and will be having another Copic class in June along with an advanced class sometime in June or July that involves airbrushing! Both instructors are Copic Certified and were such fun to hang out with. I'm looking forward to the next class.

You have a chance to win something by participating in the challenge at the Creative Clear Stamps blog. Laura is also having a sale at the store through the end of the month. So hurry over there before the sale ends.

Have a great day!
