That is so true! I took my girls swimming yesterday and we hung out in the deep end for awhile and I pushed off the side of the pool to show the girls how to do a back flip in the water and boy did my stomach and back muscles protest! I used to be so flexible back in my gymnastics days, now I'm older and out of shape. I would probably instantly die if I took off running and did a couple of back handsprings. Seriously, die right on the spot. Forget about doing the splits. We used to have to do splitwalks and backbend walks to warm up. If you fell before you reached the end of the mat, you had to do sit ups. I never fell. I hate sit ups. LOL Alas, a back flip off a mini trampoline ended my gymnastics. I landed wrong and cracked my foot. It was horribly painful and I had to hobble around school with a book bag which was so not cool at the time. I tried going back to gymnastics but it wasn't the same. My 8yo is a natural and I'll be signing her up for gymnastics in the near future. She's taught herself how to do a handstand and flip over into a back bend but she can't pull herself up out of it yet.
Ok, enough talk of my glory days. Here's a card for you. I used more of the October Afternoon Cherry Hill pattern paper. I used a sketch from Friday Sketchers and the stamp is a sentiment single from Creative Clear Stamps called Feeling Old. Finished card size is 4.25 x 4.25. Have a great Sunday!
LOL are you sending that card to me....???? This is soooo cute..
ReplyDeletesuch striking colours, love it!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I totally understand what you mean! I tried doing a flip in the pool, and got all dizzy and weird feeling. I was like crap~I really am getting old! : ( My 4 1/2 y.o. has been doing gymnastics for a year and a half, and does an awesome job! She's definitely a natural too, and I just love to watch her : )
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and funny card! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing with my sketch and joining the Friday Sketchers!
Hugs Tanja
What would you girls do if your baby girl was 29??? More than likely, the same thing I do. So who did you make the card for??? Me or Harriet??? I remember when she was 4, I guess that's a blessing and I'll claim it. I just visited my 79 yr old dad. Life is what it is. Plain and simple. Enjoy it or not..our choice. Ok Sunday School lesson over. Beautiful card Leigh Ann. My granny would have called you a youngin'.
