Make it Monday #126 and Summer Card Camp 2

I used this week's color combo and modified sketch 3 from Summer Card Camp 2 with Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday challenge.  The 3D die cut sentiment technique was challenging for me, but I'm happy with my first effort.

So sorry for the grainy photo...still can't find my camera battery charger. Grrr.

Summer Card Camp 2: Week 3

This card is for week 3, day 1...which was yesterday.

This week's color combo is a tough one.  I used all the colors but added a color not on the list--the green leaves-- to make it work for me.  I did use one of the sketches this week but modified it a bit.  I stamped the flowers and then embossed them with glittery embossing powder.

Made the banner by hand thanks to Jennifer McGuire's video yesterday and I think that excites me more than anything.  Sometimes it's the simple things that have the biggest impact.

Summer Card Camp 2 inspired card

This card was inspired by Kristina Werner's card in Summer Card Camp 2.

The flower set I used is an old one from My Cute Stamps called Spunky Nature and the sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps called Truth Is.

Have a great day!

Summer Card Camp 2: Day 5

Wow, who knew working with vellum would be so hard for me!    I absolutely loved stamping the background piece and doing the pencil line grid and I know I will be using this technique often.

The vellum pieces...yikes, definitely need more practice.  I think I will be buying vellum cardstock because layering vellum pieces is not my cup of tea.  I'm weird about everything lining up perfectly and I just couldn't get those pieces to line up exactly and my sewing machine isn't easily accessible, and isn't working too great right now, to sew the piece down.   To hold the panel down, I added some tiny glue drops that you can barely see if you are looking for them.

Summer Card Camp 2: Day 1

This is my first time participating in an online card class... I'm hoping it helps me with my mojo.  I managed to use all 5 of the colors for this week and used one of the sketches.

My goal for this class is to add more details to my projects.  Obviously, I have not started doing that yet. LOL

I'm hoping I will be able to participate everyday--full time job gets in the way!  If not, I'll definitely be watching the videos and perusing the gallery.
