This is for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #9. The colors are tempting turquoise, so saffron, old olive, pumpkin pie and real red. So saffron gave me the most trouble because I really don't like the way it looks paired with tempting turquoise.
I struggled with this card and I'm not totally pleased with the end result. I struggled with the scallop portion. I played around with several color combinations for the scallops and just couldn't find one that was perfect, so I went with the one you see. The old olive, so saffron and red looked best to my eye this morning. I used SU's scallop punch for the saffron scallop and my wishblade for the old olive scallop behind it. I channeled Beate by using a background stamp to make my own patterned paper and using several layers. This background stamp is retired and it is called Dots & Daisies. The Thank you sentiment comes from the set Happy Heart Day.
Your card is super cute! It really "pops!"
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute - I really love the paper!!
ReplyDeletevery cute!! i agree!
ReplyDeleteif you're not happy with this, can i have it? i think it's great! i especially love the way you used dots & daisies with the scallop punch. the wide grosgrain is great too! an all-around winnner, in my book!
ReplyDeletebtw, i work at starbucks...what's your favorite drink? i like a toffee nut soy hot chocolate!
This is so cute! I love that you colored the flowers all different colors - I've never done that with this background stamp, so thanks for the new inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks ladies. The scallop portion of the card looks weird to me but it's growing on me.
ReplyDeleteJenn in GA, my favorite Starbucks drink is a nonfat Caramel Machiatto followed closely by a Cafe Mocha, nonfat with whip.

ReplyDeleteSuper cute!
ReplyDeleteI love how you have put these colours together - I get that you weren't happy with the card (dont get me wrong - I love it!) as I am always second guessing myself and sometimes have huge amounts of trouble trying to fit colours together, but I think you have done an amazing job! well done on getting into the top 20 :)
ReplyDeleteI love it. Totally worth the struggle!
