Hello, my pretty...

I have always loved the beaded hat pins in SU's Pretties Kit but never loved the $30 price tag. Not that it's not worth it, you do get lots of stuff in it, but I only wanted the pins. I saw the Pins & Pretties post on No time to stamp? and made one easily! DH and I had to take the girls to a birthday party in Knoxville, so I loaded up with craft store coupons and we hit a couple before we left town. I found these hat pins at AC Moore and a pack of 10 was only $2.17! I already had some beads from my attempt at bracelet making (didn't go well) so I didn't need to buy more. I took apart a pearl bracelet (faux of course) I was given a few years ago and never wear and added those to my bead collection. The top pearl on the pin is from that bracelet.

I like this pin and think it has a vintage look which I'm really into right now. I used Inkssentials Glossy Accents (same as SU's crystal effects) to adhere the pins in place. I have a jewelry box with several earrings that are missing their mate, so I pulled a back off one of those for the bottom of the pin. I will definitely make a card in the next day or so and use this pretty.

I hope you are inspired to make your own pretties!

Don't you just love when you can "re-create" and save a bundle?
