Shoebox swap card

This is the card I'm taking to the shoebox swap tonight. I have always had trouble with swaps because I agonize over my card. I spent so much time last night trying to come up with a cute card that was easy--you should see the rejects littering my table right now! I ended up using this classic layout. I hope the other ladies like it and don't think it's too boring. *sigh*
I added some interest by sewing on the pattern paper panel and doing something different with the ribbon. I also edged the card with vintage cream ink.

Thanks for looking, I'm off to the pool with the kids. My oldest got sick on Saturday, along with my computer-ugh!, and she's feeling better now and eager to do something fun. School starts in less than 3 weeks here (Aug 7th!!) and the pool will be closing soon. Have a great day!

Stamp set: Life and Text Style background (PTI), Bitty dot pattern paper (PTI), So Saffron ribbon (SU) Kraft cardstock (SU & PTI)

  1. I love your different ribbon treatment...I often wonder what to do other than the same tired bow - pretty though they may be. And that stitching is fun...sometimes you just need a little something and stitching is super! School starts August 7th? Holy hat that's soon!

  12. This is just too cute!! I have a shoebox scheduled for next week and I just might have to case this. So how do they do the stitching at the shoebox?? Do you bring them with the stitching already on it? And thanks for the Bday wishes :0) Everyone keeps reminding me that 40 is the new 30, but they all seem to be younger than me!!!
