I’m now officially part of The Wild Flower Kids design team. I’m honored to be part of such a talented group of ladies and look forward to being inspired by each one of them!
It’s Wild Flower Wednesday and the challenge this week is to Box it Up! You can read all the details here and while you are there, grab yourself a free template so you can play along!
My daughter needed a gift for a friend’s birthday and I decided to make a gift box and card all in one. I used the Favor Box template and Birthday Ivy and made a pocket for the front to hold a small card. The inside of the box contains mini candy bars and money. I thought this would be a lovely and different way to give a young girl some money for her birthday. The ribbon is seam binding I picked up at Hobby Lobby and I dyed it that funky purple using some homemade glimmer mist (Thanks, Harriet!) and a few drops of SU’s Melon Mambo re-inker. As you can see, it is nowhere near Melon Mambo color but it worked out wonderfully for my project.Next up is a project I made using the free template you can grab over at The Wild Flower Patch blog called Goody Basket. This template came about because my friend Julie mentioned the idea of a template that could hold a cute little mini loaf of quick bread (like banana bread). The ribbon is off white satin ribbon that I dyed with homemade glimmer mist and some Bermuda Bay (SU) re-inker.
I hope you will play along with us this week and you can grab a free image to go with your free template by joining The Wild Flower Kids group on Papercraft Planet or you are welcome to use other images.
You have until June 8th to link up your project here for your chance to win 2 images and 1 template from The Wild Flower Patch store.

ReplyDeleteI've been watching tutorials and considering trying to make the seam binding too - I spend too much money on it...gotta be a cheaper way.
Annie these are too cute! I love them both!

ReplyDeleteOkay, the stars must be aligned just perfectly. Guess what is on its way from Amazon to my door....mini loaf pans!!! I can't wait to have a fun way to package them up. Ya-hoo!
ReplyDeleteThe gift box/card for your daughter's friend is beautiful. I love the big old image on there with the scallops partly off the edge. Very fun look. And the ribbon turned out beautifully!!!
Love 'em both! Great idea to repeat the flowers in the first one by using glitter in each scallops. Another cutie with the second one too. I don't think I will find time to play along, but I am going to go grab your freebie in SVG...yep, I finally bought SCAL! I made my first card using the Cricut last week too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the "mini loaf holder" - you are a sweetie!!!
I was bopping around to see what everyone did with your templates...I completely forgot to say congrats on being "officially" on the DT :>)
