Wild Flower Wednesday: Glass effect

It’s Wednesday so that means it’s time for another challenge from The Wild Flower Patch.  This week’s challenge is glass effect*.  I don’t recall ever trying this technique—I’m a little technique shy sometimes or maybe it’s laziness…

Ok, I cracked mine by accident and decided to crack it some more and just go with it.  It was hard to stop cracking it because it was fun. I made a snow globe shaped tag/ornament. I stamped some pale blue snowflakes and then added my Snowman that I colored, cut out and adhered. The back is one piece and blank so you can write your message on the back.

WFW Glass effect  For more inspiration using this technique, hop on over to The Wild Flower Patch blog and see what the design team created. I hope you will play along with us this week for a chance to win some goodies from the store!  The use of Wild Flower Kids images are not required but we would love it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Annie

Supplies: Kraft cardstock, Dark Chocolate ink (PTI), Designer Woodgrain stamp (Hero Arts), martha stewart bakers twine.

*If you don’t know what glass effect is, I’ll give you some quick info about it.  You take your versamark pad and smoosh it all over the piece you want to glass effect, cover with ultra thick (or regular if that’s all you got) embossing powder and heat emboss it.  You repeat this step several times, I think I did 3 rounds on my project using ultra thick.  If you have regular embossing powder, you may have to do it a few more times.  If you want a cracked glass look, just bend it until it cracks.
