Giddy Bugs

Another card using my new stamps from Paper Smooches.  This one uses Giddy Bugs and, don't be shocked, some American Crafts paper.  I made this one last night while sitting at the table with my daughter while she did homework.  The twine is from The Twinery and cardstock is from Papertrey Ink.

I mentioned in another post that I joined the Paper Smooches club to get the new releases before they officially release and Giddy Bugs is a set that I might have passed on had it not came as part of my club order.  After using it, it's a darn cute set and I'm happy to have it.

Fabulous Birthday

This card uses a Hero Arts set called Yummy Treats and I used some of that American Crafts pattern paper I scored at Marshall's--I'm gonna be real sad when that paper pad is gone.

Thanks for dropping by!

Annie

Supplies: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Nestabilities, Fiskars Star Punch, Copic Markers, Cardstock is from Papertrey Ink.

Hey Dad

I made this card for the iCopic challenge to color in black and white with 1 accent color of your choice.  I kept it clean and manly so my girls can give it to their Dad--he says man cards don't have ribbon or buttons or bows on them. I used my new Paper Smooches set (Boob Tubes) and it's so fun to play with.  Seriously, I see my self using this set quite a bit.

Boob Tubes

This is my 2nd post  because I got some new stamps today that are so cute, so I made a quick CAS card.

I joined the Paper Smooches club and that means I get the spankin' new Paper Smooches stamps before they are officially released. Yipee!  I ripped open Boob Tubes (which releases April 1) first because I love vintage TV's.  I love that sentiment too.   Pattern paper is American Crafts that I scored at Marshall's for $5.99 for a 60 sheet pack thanks to Tina's enabling.  I'm sure it's a retired line but I love it and plan on using it to death.

Thanks for stopping by!

Now on to my card...
I'm a woman of few words this rainy Monday morning.  I love the colors on this one.  I used Cosmo Cricket paper that I cut using my Cricut (Plantin Schoolbook cartridge), some twine from The Twinery and some Simply Chartreuse cardstock from PTI.  Stamp set used is Another Year by Practicing Creativity and I stamped it in SU! Old Olive ink.

Have a great day!

Simple Birthday Bag

Enabler alert: ABC Toys and Crafts has Martha Stewart punches on sale through midnight on 3/18/11.  24% off retail and the selection is great too!

I made this simple gift bag with some new Hero Arts stamps  I got recently.  I wanted to keep it simple and elegant and quick to put together.  I love having bags like this on hand when an unexpected birthday pops up. By unexpected, I mean that I forgot. :)

I almost always have a stash of white or kraft bags hanging around and I get mine at JoAnn's. I used my Simple Scallop edge punch (Martha Stewart) and used it on the tag too--i just covered up the little holes to give it a different look.

The Happy Birthday challenge is still moving right along, so link up your birthday entries for a chance to win up to $25 credit in the ABC Toys and Crafts store!

Have a good one!

Roll with it

I had the idea for this card and stamped it out on scratch paper so I wouldn't forget the idea.  I showed the idea to my hubby over dinner and he liked it, so I decided to make it after dinner. Not that I get his approval for my ideas, just those I'm unsure about.

Ok, so the scooter had a mis-hap and is currently on fire.  Then my evil self thought, "Ooh, let's have some dark clouds."  So now your scooter is on fire and  it's about to rain.  Kinda sucky, right?  Well, sometimes bad things happen in our lives and more often than not, we just have to roll with it.  Sometimes, we end up in a better place than we started and that bad thing turned out to be a blessing... like the dark clouds, hopefully they will put out the scooter fire.

Paper Smooches

I used the new Spiffy Scooters stamp set from Paper Smooches to make this cheery card.  I wanted to do a little something different to this card, so I cut out a circle to give the focal point a little more focus.  I colored with copis and made the scooter a bit more girly by adding the flowers.  I adore the flames and they are one of the reasons I bought this set.

Side view to show the dimension a bit more...

That's all for now, I'll be back on Wednesday with a birthday project.  Thanks for dropping in!

Supplies:  Pattern paper from Blossom Soup collection (Jillibean Soup).  Am I the only one who doesn't like the name 'Jillibean Soup'?  Cardstock is white and smokey shadow (papertrey Ink), Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Gift to Go

It's been awhile since I've made a 3D project and I truly enjoy making them.  It's amazing to me that with some clever cutting and score lines we can turn plain cardstock into something cool.  I paired one of My Cute Stamps newest stamp releases called Konnichiwa with some Jillibean Soup pattern paper and my Gift to Go template to make this birthday box.  This stamp set is so stinkin' cute!  All the My Cute Stamps sets are stinkin' cute!

I created the sentiment on my computer because I didn't have an appropriate sentiment to go with the project.  The ABC DT Challenge is going strong, so link up your birthday projects for a chance to win up to $25 in credit in the ABC Toys and Crafts store.

The reject blog hop

Catchy title, eh?  This reject blog hop is hosted by Amber over at Damask Love and please hop over there and check out all the rejected cards from the latest Paper Crafts Go To Sketches for Cardmakers submission call. With over 2,700 submissions fighting for 288 spots, well, there are lots of awesome rejects out there that need some love.  I've got 15 rejects myself--some are good and some I thought were good at the time... LOL   I submitted 16 cards to this call and was fortunate that 1 card made it in the issue.

I completely understand that not every card can make it in an issue and it doesn't mean that your card isn't good, it means it just wasn't what they were looking for at that moment.  I also see cards published that I don't like but that doesn't mean that there aren't thousands of crafters out there who love the same card I dislike and I think Paper Crafts does a great job of providing something for everyone in their issues.  The point is that I don't take the rejection personally.

This is one of the first cards I made for the call and my favorite reject:

I used Pouty Petals by My Cute Stamps and this was for sketch  #66.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lizzie's Room

I made name frames for my girls when we moved into our house 4 years ago and they hang in the hallway right outside each girl's room. My 9yo took hers down recently and asked me if I would update her name frame and she chose some cardstock colors she liked.  I set the project aside because I just couldn't think of a cool design. I wanted to do something different than just spelling her name and decorating around it.

I saw this card on Alyssa's blog and clicked on the link and took a look at Kenny K's images and found a non-sexy one for my daughter's frame.  I decided to do it up in a way that discouraged people from entering her room--she's in the "get out of my room" stage.  So I opened up Photoshop Elements and laid it all out.  I wanted it to be a surprise but she saw it before I colored it and told me what copics to use. LOL  I think it turned out cute and she absolutely loves it.

Without further ado...

The sentiments say:

Did I say you could come in?
Well? Did I?
I'm not kidding.
What makes you so special?
I like Justin Bieber. U want to make something of it?
Your middle name will be regret.
Keep walking and nobody gets hurt.
That's what I thought.

The main design is 8x8 and I matted it and framed it in a 12x12 frame.  I had to take it out of the frame to take this picture (too much glare), but it looks even better all nicely framed.

Clean, simple hello

This card was made for the current Paper Crafts color inspiration challenge #2.  I used a Hero Arts stamp set called Happy Hello and this sketch was the inspiration for the layout.  I used some lovely Lemonade twine from The Twinery too.

I also want to mention that I made the ABC Toys and Crafts design team! Yipee! I was so excited to discover this store and am even happier to have the pleasure of designing for it. Check it out because Julie has free shipping on clear stamps in the US and they are discounted 10% off the regular retail price.

Have a great day!
