Friday Favorite Five

I'm back with my five favorite things for the week. Check out Eve's blog for her favorites.

1. The view from my porch (front & back). When I took Stella (my dog) out this morning, the fog in the trees was so pretty I just had to take a picture. The picture doesn't do the view justice. I also love the view from the back porch. In the last week, the leaves have fallen with gusto. Pretty soon we'll be able to see our neighbor's houses clearly through the trees. The first picture is from my front porch and there are no houses directly across the street form me and there won't be. That piece of land floods and the part that doesn't flood is uphill. There is also a trail up there. The second picture is from my back porch.
2. Kashi cookies. Man, these things are good. I ate the whole box this week. I love the chewy texture.
3. Cookie Exchange boxes. I attend a cookie exchange every year and shopping for the supplies is so much fun. I snagged this MS stuff from AC Moore on Wednesday.
4. Italian Sweet Cream creamer. Delicious.5. The used bookstore. I don't have a picture of it, but I love going. I found a book I wanted to read for .95 and another for $1.50! Most of the new paperbacks aren't much cheaper than you can get new at Wal-Mart, so I only buy the titles that are hard to find at a discount. I went on Wednesday and sold a bag of paperbacks and left with a bag of paperbacks. My 7yo was with me and she chose a Hannah Montana chapter book.
I'm off to get ready to eat lunch with my oldest daughter at school. She is recovering from a food allergy and looks pitiful. I will visit with her and bring her some anti-itch cream. She saw a TV spot about Mangos and wanted to try them. She liked the first mango, so I bought her another one a few days later. She had a small rash after the second mango and it was gone by the next morning and I didn't make the connection. On Tuesday I gave her a third mango and she broke out horribly and still looks bad today. I took her to the Dr. on Wednesday and determined she shouldn't eat mangos anymore. She is highly allergic to poison ivy and apparently mango skin has properties similar to poison ivy. She didn't eat the skin or even touch the skin, but the mango still affected her that way. I shudder at the thought of what a 4th mango would do to her.
Have a great friday!
