Gift Card Holders

My mother is giving all the men in the family gift cards for Christmas this year and I told her I'd make holders for her. I've been digging around online and inside my brain for the past few days trying to find a nice gift card holder that didn't use a ton of supplies, didn't take a long time to make and didn't require an envelope. I thought I found one and made a couple and found out it wasn't really what I was looking for (too time consuming even though it seemed like it would be quick). I then thought I could just make a regular size card and score it differently to make a pocket inside. Before I could give that a try, I noticed the PTI senior design team challenge was gift card/cash holders! I almost howled with glee when I saw Michelle Wooderson's contribution (I just love her stuff!). With Michelle's design you can make 4 gift card holders with one sheet of cardstock. That is perfect for me since I have 9 to make. I kept mine very simple because, let's get real here, they are going to men. I wanted them to look masculine yet still gift like. These did not take long to make and the only thing that bugged me was putting the sticky strip on each one. I may add a small tag with the recipients name on it just to personalize it a bit.

Here's the measurements I used: card holder base is 4.25 x 5.5 (1/4 sheet of cardstock) scored in half at 2.75. I then cut 3/4" off one end. The dsp is 4.25 x 2. Check out Michelle's original design here. I used PTI cardstock in Kraft, Basic Gray Figgy Pudding dsp, Offray Ribbon in Spring Moss (from Walmart).
