6x6 vertical calendar

I wanted to share this project even though I haven't painted it yet. I haven't decided on the color yet. I have two of these and was thinking about painting one black and one white or maybe one a chocolate brown. I want to distress them too--I'm into that right now. This one, obviously, is being used as a calendar for my office and I think I'll use the other one for 6x6 scrapbook pages of my girls. I bought a pack of 6x6 scrapbook page protectors from AC Moore. I can't remember the cost but it was super cheap like $3 or something. I am using 6 with this project and have the months doubled up (January/July in one protector, etc.). I didn't photograph every month I made because after the first few they all kind of look alike only with different dsp. If anyone wants to see every month, I'll be happy to share them. Here's a sampling...

Um, forgive my ignorance, but I don't know how to post the excel file so you can have the calendars to print, so if you want the file just e-mail me and I'll send it to you.

Now, do you want some sources for your own 6x6 vertical stand? I knew you did. So here goes...the absolute best stand I have ever seen comes from Wanda Bingaman. Wanda does these awesome recipe card classes using a stand her husband makes and the deluxe stand has this little bar thingy that will prop your recipe(or calendar page) up a bit so you can see it better. The wood is first class as is the workmanship. I have seen these stands in person and held them in my hot little hands and plan on ordering a deluxe one for my kitchen. They are worth every penny and range in price from $5 to $25 unless something has changed. Check them out here and click on recipe stands to view them all. You may be able to do a recipe class by mail with Wanda, check out her blog and e-mail her for more information. Her stuff is really great.

Ok, enough about the very cute and talented Wanda. You can also find stands like mine here and here .

Enjoy your weekend! My hubby is off to California in a few days and will be gone for almost a week so I guess I better do some laundry. Ugh.

  1. Awwwww- You are my favorite person today!! Thanks!!!! The stands are still the same!! The only problem here is that Rich can't do as much work on them, as he would like- it's too darn cold in our garage!!!
